Arranging a parcel to be shipped:

RM Couriers are the preferred courier service of the NDMRB for short distances.

Call RM Couriers and ask for a quotation for the sending of your parcel, you must tell them that you are from the NDM research building. When arranging colleciton of your parcel it is advised that you call RM couriers before 1pm for collection to be achieved before 3pm that day. RM couriers telephone number: 01865 712228

Write the price of the courier in the top right hand corner of the shipping slip, you then raise a requisition on R12 so that the correct grant code is recharged.

If you are sending biological samples then a biological declaration form must be completed and included with the parcel. For chemical samples a Statement for chemical and reagent compounds must be completed with the sample.

For international samples you must complete a proforma invoice for customs clearance - it is advised you included four or five copies with your samples for international shipping.

Send the white and yellow forms with your parcel, return the pink copy to accounts - make sure you arrange collection of your parcel from Goods inwards with RM couriers and ensure you inform a member of the facilities team that your parcel is awaiting collection.

You MUST ensure that the correct hazard labels are stuck to the outside of your parcel - if you are unsure please ask the Laboratory Manager, Facilities or Darren Blase who will have a stock of correct labels.

For precious temperature sensitive samples, it is advised that you use World Couriers or Davies International who can provide dry-ice top up and temperature logging services.

If you have any questions about this process please contact Darren Blase.
