Induction Information

If you need access to the NMR and Liquid Nitrogen rooms, specific induction is required. These are available on request with the building Laboratory Manager.

If you are an exsisting member of staff or student visiting from another department or a new member of staff or student you must attend a building and lab induction. These are held every Tuesday in the basement meeting room at 9:15am followed by a lab induction at 9.45am

The induction aims to provide information relating to:

Health and safety, security, first aid and accident reporting, fire alarm and exits, laboratory rules, training, disposal of laboratory waste, laboratory disinfection policy, chemical storage and waste and out of hours working.

Where more detail is required relevant standard operating procedures (SOP) and risk assessments (RA) are available via the internal pages. It is expected that all personnel will read and understand documentation referenced.
