The Medicinal Chemistry group designs and synthesises chemical probes to interrogate the function of target proteins in cellular systems. The group is currently focused on discovering chemical probes for epigenetic proteins.

Medicinal Chemistry Lab @ TDI

We are a group of 10 - 15 medicinal chemists, from PhD and Master students to experienced research scientists, led by our Principal Investigator Prof. Paul Brennan. We all have experience of working at the interface of chemistry and biology.
Our aim is to find out new inhibitors and chemical probes that have a specific well defined effect on human cells and proteins. We are specifically interested in Epigenetics.
We spend most of our time working in a chemistry lab making compounds, helped by technologies and instruments which are very useful for the progress towards final compounds.
Our past and current work is listed in the Publications page.
